Stone Island Vintage Monofilament Mesh Jacket Black
Evo Quality Score
7/10Product Description
A legendary grail from the Spring/Summer 2002 collection, designed during the transformative Paul Harvey era. This jacket is a prime example of Stone Island’s obsession with industrial transparency, constructed from a high-tenacity Monofilament Nylon Mesh. Originally derived from filtration technologies, this double-weave material is essentially a structural mesh that provides incredible durability while remaining entirely translucent.
The jacket features an internal resin-coated layer that provides wind protection while allowing the intricate grid of the monofilament to catch the light. The "Black" dye on this specific substrate creates a unique metallic, charcoal-like depth. The design is utilitarian and sharp, featuring a classic collar, a full-length zip with a buttoned storm flap, and two large patch pockets on the chest.
Condition is PL7, which is exceptional for a 20+ year old Monofilament piece. These garments are known for their delicate internal coatings, and a PL7 rating indicates that while there is some expected vintage character and light signs of use, the structural integrity and aesthetic of the mesh remain highly impressive. Finished with the iconic removable compass badge on the left sleeve.
