Product Description
The Stone Island Special Process Ice Jacket from Autumn/Winter 2011 is one of the most technically ambitious pieces Stone Island has ever produced, constructed from a high-sheen coated nylon fabric that has been subjected to Stone Island's proprietary ice dyeing process — a method in which garments are dyed at sub-zero temperatures to produce an intentionally uneven, crystalline colour distribution across the shell. The result here is a striking blue-grey iridescent finish, shifting between deep steel blue and slate tones depending on light and angle, with the characteristic mottled variation that makes every ice-dyed piece entirely unique. Designed in a voluminous hooded bomber silhouette, the jacket features a central zip closure with a snap-button storm placket, two large diagonal hand-warming pockets with snap-button tabs, ribbed cuffs and hem, and a generously proportioned hood finished with a tonal inner lining visible at the opening. The iconic Stone Island compass badge is mounted to the left sleeve in its classic black and white format, anchoring the piece firmly within the Stone Island Main line's most experimental output of that era. This piece carries ART number 551545099/15, placing it within the Autumn/Winter 2011 Stone Island Main collection — a season widely regarded by collectors as a high watermark for the brand's Special Process experimentation. It is worth noting that the colour-change effect of the ice dye is not operating at full intensity on this example, though the effect remains visible and functional, which is not uncommon in aged Special Process garments. The condition is graded 7/10 — Good, meaning the jacket presents well overall with light signs of age consistent with a well-kept used garment, and no significant damage or structural issues.
