Decode any Stone Island or C.P. Company article number
Every Stone Island garment is assigned a unique ART number — a structured code that acts as the brand’s internal reference for season, product line, and garment category.
Think of it as Stone Island’s version of a “passport number” for each item: a consistent identifier that helps catalogue the brand’s archive and production history.
Although Stone Island does not publicly publish the full decoding system, collectors and long‑time enthusiasts have documented reliable patterns over the years.
This guide is based on those community‑verified structuresre.
Locate the ART number on your garment’s inner label.
Enter it into the checker above.
The tool will decode:
Season & year
Brand line (e.g., Stone Island, Denims, Junior, Shadow Project)
Garment type (e.g., jackets, knitwear, trousers)
If the code uses the new K‑series prefix, the tool will interpret it using the updated post‑Moncler structure.
This tool is designed to give you context and clarity, not to authenticate products.
For authenticity checks, always use Certilogo.
Older Stone Island pieces (pre‑2025) use a purely numeric structure.
The first five digits are the most important:
1–2: Season & Year
The first two digits map to a specific season.
Example:
3–4: Brand Line
These digits identify which division produced the garment:
5: Garment Type
This digit categorises the item.
community‑documented is:
1 = Shirts / Overshirts
2 = T-shirts / Polos
3 = Trousers
4 = Jackets
5 = Knitwear
6 = Sweatshirts / Hoodies
7 = Long Coats
8 = Bags / Hats / Accessories
G = Gilet / Waistcoats
A = Jacket / Blazer
M = Jacket
These mappings are widely accepted in the collector community, but not officially published by Stone Island.
From Spring/Summer 2025 onward, Stone Island introduced a new prefix system beginning with K1S.
This change reflects the brand’s integration into the Moncler Group, where product coding is being modernised and aligned across the group’s internal systems.
The goal is to unify production architecture while still preserving the ART number as a meaningful archival reference.
K‑Series Structure (Current Known Format)
• K1S → Spring/Summer 2025
• Digits 4–5 → Brand line (same as legacy system)
• Digit 6 → Garment type (same type map as above)
Example:
decodes as:
• Season: Spring/Summer 2025
• Brand: Stone Island
• Type: Jacket
Only K1S is currently confirmed.
Future prefixes (e.g., K1F, K2S) will be added as they are officially released.
ART numbers help you understand:
For collectors, resellers, and enthusiasts, the ART number is a quick way to place a piece in its historical context.
